If you have a MAX200 dumbbell that you feel fits your dog, then do the following:

Read the measurements stamped on the bell. The first measurement is the end (bell), the second measurement is the bar length and the third measurement (if any) is the bar diameter.

You should choose the same size bell, add 3 to the bar length (scent articles do not have tapered ends so the bar length must be longer so the bells (ends) will be outside the line of vision.

Our recommendation for the bar diameters are as follows:

If you have another supplier's dumbbell and there are measurements stamped on the end like (10 x 10 - The first measurement is the end (bell), the second measurement is the bar length), divide each measurement by 4 to come up with the inch conversion for the end and the bar length. For example, 10 divided by 4 would convert to 2 1/2 inches. Convert the inches to centimeters using the conversion calculator above.

You should choose the size bell that is the closest measurement shown on the drop down chart - if there is a choice to go up or down, our recommendation is to choose the larger dimension. Add 1 inch to the bar length (scent articles do not have tapered ends. The bar length must be longer so the bells (ends) will be outside the line of vision. Refer to the chart above for our recommendation on bar diameters.

If your dumbbell has no measurements stamped on the end:

Measure the end (bell) of your dumbbell.

Measure the bar length of your dumbbell. This can be a little difficult because of the taper but we will need the measurement inside the tapers as close as you can get it.
